Position: Retail Associate
Location: Riley Grae, 701 Corydon Avenue
Employment Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available
Hours: 16-40 Hours Weekly (Weekend Availability Required)
Wage: $16.00-$18.00 Per Hour

As a Retail Associate, you'll play a key role in shaping this experience — welcoming guests, sharing product knowledge, and maintaining the shop's appearance to create a memorable and inviting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers with a friendly demeanour, offering product information and assisting them in finding items.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually inspiring sales floor, including restocking merchandise, arranging displays, and performing general cleaning tasks.
- Provide knowledgeable and helpful responses to customer inquiries about products, store policies, and services.
- Efficiently operate the POS system to process sales, handle returns and exchanges, and manage transactions with accuracy and care.
- Open and close the store according to established procedures, including preparing the register, balancing the till, and completing end-of-day reports.
- Support inventory management by receiving shipments, counting stock, and reporting discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the team to uphold Riley Grae's brand standards, contributing to a positive, supportive workplace culture.
- Report directly to the Owners, ensuring that all duties align with Riley Grae's brand standards, operational goals, and commitment to outstanding customer care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year's work experience in a retail setting.
- Availability to work weekends as part of a regular schedule.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory.
- A genuine interest in Riley Grae's products, values, and community.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights (up to 25lbs) for extended periods, in alignment with the physical demands of retail work. Please note: our sales floor includes a small flight of 5 stairs and may be inaccessible to some individuals.
- Familiarity with Shopify POS is an asset.
- Skills or experience in marketing, social media management, or graphic design are considered assets, with potential for future growth into a more senior role.
- Previous experience managing or supervising in a retail setting is considered an asset, with potential for future growth into a more senior role.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting wage of $16.00-$18.00 per hour, based on experience and role.
